Bring On The Heat...
Every summer I seem to fall into a rut of what to read and generally find myself re-reading old favorites.
I have all kinds of favourite authors, but here's just a sampler of some amazing books to get you started.
Whether you're at a resort, or at a beach, you can't go wrong with any of these series'.
Masters of the Shadowlands, Cherise Sinclair
BDSM Contemporary Erotic Romance
In the exclusive Shadowlands BDSM club, the title “Master” is given to only the most powerful, experienced, and skilled Dominants.
However, although each Master may have played with many, many submissives, no training can prepare a Dom for falling in love.
(Description borrowed from the authors website.) This series will leave you panting. Scorching hot doesn't even begin to describe this authors talent for leaving readers one hot mess.
Geek Kink, Sara Brookes
BDSM Contemporary Erotic Romance
Computers and cuffs. Music and ropes. Lattes and floggers. Cupcakes, video games and glass toys. Nothing is off limits when these intelligent and driven submissives capture the hearts of their powerful Dominants. As these hardcore geeks delve deeper into the seductive world of BDSM, they’ll learn how to break all the rules and level up their sex lives.
(Description borrowed from the authors website.) I've read this series just as many times as Cherise Sinclair's Masters of the Shadowlands and I can promise it does NOT disappoint.
Canadian Muscle, Kacey Hammell
Contemporary Erotic Romance
Being the hired muscle just got a whole lot harder... No one knows sacrifice better than former Army Sergeant Gavin Bennett. He’s witnessed firsthand the emotional, physical, and mental toll of being caught in the crossfire. Being a bouncer-slash-bodyguard may not be Gavin’s dream job, but he’s willing to do just about anything to help out family. When Gavin reports for his first day of work, he quickly discovers a woman who threatens to crack his legendary cool. Shree Walker is on the run from a dark past she tried to shut away. Battered and broken, happily ever after doesn’t exist for her. Ready to start fresh with a new life in a new city, she is happy dancing at the Vixen Club. She’d be even happier without the presence of the prickly new bouncer who won’t let anyone or anything get past his carefully guarded defenses. He’s a distraction she doesn’t need. And a temptation she can’t resist. When Shree is kidnapped by the criminal mastermind hell-bent on taking the club at any cost, Gavin has to make a decision. Hold tight and continue to keep Shree at arm’s length. Or break down his walls and take a chance on something more powerful than them both: Love.
(Description borrowed from Amazon. Another hot series, and the big bonus... The author is CANADIAN. I might be a smidge patriotic, but when I stumble across amazing national talent, I do love to represent it. I highly recommend any of Kacey's titles. They're super sexy and to die for.
Club Wicked, Ann Mayburn
BDSM/Erotic Contemporary Romance
Young nanny Anya Kozlov takes a job at the elite BDSM club, Wicked, in order to pay for her upcoming trip to Paris. Donning a mask to disguise herself she uses the fake name of Dove. On her first night she is shocked when she finds out that the man she is a nanny for and has an enormous crush on, Jesse Shaw, is also a member of Wicked. When Jesse expresses his interest in teaching her about the dark pleasures of Dominance and submission Anya is helpless to resist, even though she is lying to him about who she is.
Jesse can't seem to get Dove out of his mind. It's been five years since his wife passed and for the first time he feels something beyond physical lust or friendship for a woman. He is angry and hurt when he finds out that Dove is really Anya, his meek and mousy nanny. With only a few weeks left before Anya leaves for Paris, Jesse is determined to get her to not only tell the truth, but also mark her heart and soul so that she doesn't forget him when they are an ocean apart.
(Description taken from Amazon and from my favourite book in this collection: My Wicked Nanny) I'd be lying if I said I haven't read this series more than twice. So I hope you enjoy it too.
I Could Be Here All Day...
Leaving you with my favourite re-reads, but I'll leave you with four for now and perhaps I'll revisit this list later this summer.
I hope you've enjoyed this post and that you'll return for our historical romance recommendations in a few days.
